Vampires
I was always very bored by how perfect and indestructible the twilight vampires are. They are so overpowered, it makes everything boring. So, i changed A LOT about them -
everything i don't mention is just like in canon!
The transformation into a vampire takes up to 24 hours after the bite. After that a vampire is considered a "reborn" until they are one year old.
physical appearance:
doesn’t matter, how thirsty or old a vampire is – they always look flawless
their skin-color doesn’t lighten after the transformation, they just seem very pale due to having no more blood in their body
their eyecolor is the same as when they were human, but it becomes darker the thirstier they are. Once their eyes are black, they will start to feel dry
they have visible, but not quiet noticeable fangs
physiology:
vampires’ skin is denser and harder, but it feels just like human skin
vampires have a beating heart – it pumps venom through their veins
due to the venom the body temperature of vampires’ is at 17°C (~62,6°F)
vampires have to breathe. Whenever they can’t, they would lose consciousness and their hearts would stop beating, until they are able to breathe again
the longer they don’t drink blood, the lesser becomes the venom inside their bodies. Every move would hurt more and more, they’d feel powerless and exhausted. However, they wouldn’t die, just dry out
vampires can eat human foods – it gets dissolved by the acidic venom in their stomachs and they feel nauseous afterwards. Other than that, it wouldn’t do anything to them, than taste bad
male vampires can’t impregnate human women
powers and abilities:
vampires have enhanced bodies: their physical condition is at human's peak, with infinite stamina
with concentration they can enhance their senses: it allows them to see, hear, smell, taste and feel better than humans
every vampire has a special ability, which is unique to them
they have a very fast regenerative healing should they be wounded or break a bone
Reborns are usually stronger and faster than fully grown vampires, due to having a bit of their own blood still in their system. Only a vampire with the special ability of strength or speed could match them. However, if a vampire were to drink the blood of a witch*, they would be as strong and fast as a reborn again.
weaknesses:
direct sunlight gives them a feeling of a sunburn, which gets worse the longer they are in the sun. If they were to stay in the sunlight, they’d also get a headache, similar to a sunstroke. This can end with them losing their consciousness (they don't sparkle at all)
their eyes are light sensitive
minor physical injuries such as gunshots, stab wounds, and broken bones will cause pain and slow them down
should they get bitten by another supernatural being, the wound would scar
a torn of limb can’t be reattached
vampires can be killed through any weapon getting pushed through their heart, decapitation, heart extraction or fire
others:
vampires don’t have perfect recall (it could be someone’s gift)
All of these changes make the Volturi really unnecessary. But they are still the largest clan of vampires. They claimed the Tuscany as their territory and have been living in Volterra for centuries. They are a relatively influential coven, but only within Italy.
When a vampire bites a human corpse within the first twenty-four hours after their death, they become a ghoul*. * Witches and ghouls are something new within the rewrite universe.

New chap is up! Chapter 13: New
A Breaking Dawn rewrite where Bella realizes her relationship with Edward was solely bloodlust, co-dependency, trauma bonding, low self-esteem, and predator/prey physical and mental hypnosis. She runs at the altar, goes through hell with trauma, learns to love herself, chooses humanity, and chooses Jacob. This is a character-focused and wolfpack-focused fic that leans into the psychological horror potential of Twilight. It is an angsty, agonizing slowburn. The Cullens are not cast in a good light. Dual POV of Bella and Jacob. This is what Breaking Dawn SHOULD HAVE BEEN, to me, anyway. There is no pregnancy or baby imprinting. **JACOB X BELLA, QUIL X EMBRY, LEAH X FEMALE OC, SAM X EMILY, PAUL X RACHEL, JARED X KIM.**

so... I rewrote Twilight...
I rewrote Twilight the WHOLE series during the pandemic out of boredom. I’m leaving out some crucial details but stay with me. I know of the books but this is gonna be more of a rewrite of the movies… This is the first movie… Bella moves to the town and lives with her dad because her mother dies. She’s in her late twenties, laid back, nerdy, and introverted. She moved away from her parents. She movies back to look after her mom's old things and console her dad. As she discovers unusual photos of her mom in a group full of women. she meets up with her old best friends Jacob and Jessica…
They tell her of a mysterious family who moved into the town years ago. No one knows much about them other than they contribute a lot to the town being fixed up and the head of the family works as a prominent doctor. Only on a few occasions does anyone see the rest of them… She gets curious and starts looking into their history and finds nothing. meanwhile, her dad investigates vicious murders happening around the town. He meets up with his friend Carlisle who he’s been close with for a long time ever since he moved there.
Then we get to THE scene. a car slides through about to hit Bella but Edward saves her. He leaves a huge dent in the car and walks away with a hood over his head. Bella is in the hospital and overhears a convo with Carlisle chastizing Edward about laying low. She’s confused but curious. She begins following Edward through the town seeing him go incognito and walk around the town. He leads her into the forest. She follows him but Edward knew what she was doing. Instead of being threatening edward is much more snarky, energetic, and softer. There is a spark there. Edward plays with her a bit and doesn’t tell her what he is. What plays out is a cute cat-and-mouse game between the two. Meeting around town. They soon start to get closer and Bella figures out he’s a vampire. They fall in love… (obviously).
Edward struggles to find his humanity being immortal and Bella is very sheltered and can't seem to find her purpose in life. through each other Edward re-discovers his humanity, and Bella steps out of her shell...
Bella discovers after looking into her mom's past that she comes from a long line of a coven of witches and she may be the last of them. (This comes into play later down the line In my rewrite of Eclipse.)
Bella meets the rest of the Cullens. Esme, Alice, Rosaline, and Jasper but things get rough as the murders get closer and closer to town. One of Charlie's friends is attacked but he’s still alive. Later on, in the police station, he turns into a rampaging beast and attacks him. He soon realizes he became a vampire thanks to Carlisle who tells him and reveals he’s one too. Charlie does not take this well and punches him. It doesn’t work vampire's skin is very strong. What follows is a buddy pair to hunt down this rogue clan of vampires… As it turns out this rogue clan is led by James who was once a part of the Cullen clan but became bloodthirsty beyond repair. Both he and Edward were best friends for centuries but after a huge falling out he split. taking in other wayward vampires who thirsted for blood and started his own clan. James begins terrorizing Bella to get at Edward and stays around the town…
Charlie and Carlisle team up killing all of the vampires in their lair but James escapes and is pissed. He kidnaps Charlie and tells Bella to meet him in an abandoned fairground. the final showdown takes place here. James and Edward face off it’s brutal and vicious. Charlie tries to get his gun with a specialized silver bullet but he can’t reach it. Bella grabs the gun instead and blows James's face off. The night is over and everything is fine but the tension between Charlie and the Cullens is thick now. (imagine if your best friend lied to you about being a vampire. shit is not sweet fam. lol) Bella and Edward go to a town celebration. They dance together in the night… END.
let me know if yall want to hear my new moon rewrite...

I wish I had the energy to do my twilight rewrite but I have to get through book one first and the first half is So Dull To Me, but it's important to get through certain character building moments and I've already trimmed all the excess I can!
And I still have a ways to go before getting to;
James and co stalking Bella pre baseball game
"The Cold Ones" being an honest to God urban legends among the native youth instead of overwriting an entire culture's history (remember to donate to the Move To Higher Grounds Project)
Bella making the choice to distance herself after the birthday party because the other Cullens weren't as dramatic as Edward by leaving but she did almost die. Three Separate Times because of these idiots
Fun Cullen cultural moments because I made them multicultural instead of reinventing mormonism
Alice and Jasper being Polyam
Jasper Not Being What He Is
Bella getting pregnant at the end of New Moon and not learning until the end of Eclipse
Bella's PTSD being the deciding factor between her not wanting the Cullens to use the means at their disposal to get the baby out until Absolutely Necessary rather than "but what about the baby"
Toning Down the uncanny valley of Resentment
Something Of Value happens with the Volturi instead of a lot of buildup for a sneeze

A Delight in Hands - Official Post
Finally, months later, I have a new entry for A Series in Hands!
This entry is pretty special, since it is my first go at writing from Winter Light Carlisle's perspective. Also, this fic takes place in Apricity's near future, starting right after the Seattle trip and continuing on through the summer, several months later.
The events of this fic will show up in Apricity in due time.
Title: A Delight in Hands [Part 6 of A Series in Hands, Winter Light]
Fandom: Twilight, Life and Death
Ship: Carlisle Cullen/Beau Swan, Carlisle Cullen & Jessamine Hale
Rating: Teen
Category: M/M
Word Count: 900 words
Summary: Carlisle notices Beau's major crush and his attempts to get closer... without realizing he already succeeded in winning Carlisle over long ago. [An Apricity future fic, taking place in the near future, starting right after the Seattle arc and ending during the summer, several months later. Sister fic of A Flirt in Hands.]
Notes: You can read this without reading canon or Apricity. However, this fic takes place in the Winter Light Verse, a world that differs notably from canon. For this fic, you don't need to know much, but it is recommended that you read the sister fic, A Flirt in Hands, first (Tumblr post). Also, a few notes are listed in the A/N for context.
(fandom-blind friendly by default, Apricity-blind friendly too)

A Twilight rewrite by someone who's only experience is the Twilight Renaissance + movies
So correct me if I'm wrong, but Bella basically wants to be a vampire because a- sex, b - immortality.
lets focus on the second option. What if we kept everything the same until the Cullens leave and Bella's in depression.
So then during her depression arc she meets this new guy/girl who ends up helping her out of it, and just being a ride or die bestie, and she (cause honestly Bella feels low-key bi/les) and Bella end up crushing on each other, cause both Edward - I will creepily watch you while you sleep - Cullen and Jacob - I will attempt to assault you into kissing me - Black really creep me out.
She'd be kind of a well settled person with like therapists for parents which means she'd be able to listen to Bella's stories and be like, girl? that is not healthy??
So Bella's out of the arc a few months earlier, she's getting over her relationship with Edward, she's distancing herself from Jacob after having talked to uhhh... Amara?? Amara, but she's still grappling with her existential crisis and one's mortality, and has talked to Amara about it but is just kinda using the ' out of sight, out of mind' and distracting herself method to avoid it, and her life is going great now, she's connecting better with Jessica and her school friends and she might be falling for her pretty cute BFF Amara, and well, she doing fine right now, lets listen to 'mar and enjoy it while it lasts huh?
Then the Cullens come back, and the rest of the plot is basically the same, with a few alterations cause she's kinda spent some time with level headed, non toxic, healthy relationship supporter Amara, but overall its kinda minor, and then *insert near death experience here* triggers her and she kinda mental breakdowns over it all.
Now this can go 2 ways. She lets her fear consume her, and then the last chapter can be her at Amara's funeral, wondering if she made the right choice in letting her fear of death overcome her, and picking Edward, but losing Amara.
Or she can be sitting in a cottage, running a business with Amara, as a reputed bookseller of supernatural romance novels (Like Twilight, just healthier) and she's adopted kids and she's reflecting on how she gave up Edward for something better. Bonus points if her oldest daughter's name is Renesmee.
I just kinda feel that it would have been so cool if like her depression and existential crisis thing was talked about more, because I have barely heard about it in the fandom, which is kind of my only source for this stuff as I've been debating over whether to read the books or not.
Also I got really into the Concept of Bella and Amara AKA Amarella.

twilight rewrite! edward cullen x fem!witch!reader
chapter one: the city of forks welcomes you
masterlist ౨ৎ chapter two
summary: y/n swan has lived in forks all of her life, but when she takes her summer-long vacation to california to visit her mother, she returns to a strange new family accompanying her small town.
warnings: swearing, angst
words: 1.8k
a/n: this has been in my drafts for so so long and tbh i haven't written a fanfic since i was 12... and i'm fr 22, but i've ran out of twilight fanfics to read (i've been waiting weeks for one specific one to update and i'm going crazy)... so anyways !! hope you enjoy !!
Tumblr media
Opening my eyes, I was greeted with the trees of Forks, Washington. After an almost four hour drive, I could sense that I was nearing my home as the city was nowhere to be found. Instead it was replaced with deep green trees, dim skies, and the small shops that swept by as my dad drove.
I liked Forks, more than I probably should. Everyone here, mostly the kids, sulked about big bright cities where the sun would actually make an appearance. They longed for the liveliness that Forks had never given them.
But me? I secretly adored the quietness of it all. But of course, I had a disadvantage. Every summer I bathed in the sun rays of California, visited the busy cities, the warm beaches, and the overall liveliness that was craved from everyone else. But I was drained. Normally, it would be the opposite from any other person, but I always loved the cold. Ever since I was a kid, my little brain was wired to believe that Forks was almost like Christmas every single day of the year. So, rain, snow, or even ice (even with the ungodly amount of times I've slipped) never had me in too big of a rut.
With my mom back in California, though I loved her to death, was an absolute headache most of the time. And unlike my dad, she hovered. But, it wasn't her fault. The summer is the only time she had me, the rest were reserved with Charlie, which had resulted in this summer's mishaps: she begged me to stay longer. One would think that school would be an easy get out, but she knew the first month was nothing but dry introductions, syllabi, and effortless assignments. It was partly my fault. I was never one to turn her down, perhaps it was guilt because maybe she and I felt deep down that I favored my father more because who could ever turn down a chance to live in the perfect bustling city of San Francisco over Forks.
So I stayed. But now, it's the beginning of October. Thankfully, I was able to get in contact with the school in order to get all of my classes in order, as well as the help of my best friend, Angela, who emailed me all of the assignments. Jessica on the other hand, filled me in on all of the gossip. Her phone calls consisted of talks about her massive crush on Mike as well as the new and "totally weird" (as Jessica put it) family. "Suuupperrr pale, but weirdly GORGEOUS. I mean this Edward guy, he's wow. I swear if Mike doesn't make a move soon... I wonder if I could make him jealous?" The conversations were mostly one-sided, always either complaining about Mike's obliviousness or never catching that new guy's attention.
Now that I knew I was caught up on everything to do with school, all I wanted was to bury myself in bed and prepare for an alarm that hasn't been set in months.
Tumblr media
I awoke to the sound of a car honking outside my window, assuming it was nothing, I settled back into my pillows, throwing my purple duvet back over your head for hopefully another thirty minutes of sleep.
"Y/N/N!" I heard my dad's voice accompanied by one of his famously loud whistles from outside of my window. That's when I finally got up and peered over with squinting eyes to see my father coming out of a car that most definitely wasn't his squad car.
Once my vision settled, I saw a green Volkswagen beetle parked in the driveway. No fucking way. I sprinted down the stairs and flung the front door open to see my father with a wide grin, gesturing the keys in front of my face.
"For me? You're joking?" I said in complete shock.
"You want me to be joking? Cause if so I can just bring this right back to Billy and let him sell it to some other geezer."
"No! No! No! I mean... Thank you, dad. Oh my god, how did you guys even find this?"
"Well, consider it a late birthday present. Billy and Jacob found it back in May for your birthday and decided to fix it up for ya, free of charge, but I paid 'em of course."
"Thanks dad and how about we invite Billy and Jacob over sometime and I'll cook? As a thank you?"
"You bet."
Tumblr media
Once I parked in front of the school, my group of friends welcomed me with open arms, with Angela and Jessica squealing about how much they missed you and the boys, mostly just Mike, trying to awkwardly hug me.
I knew Mike had a crush on me, since third grade to be exact, which only made it worse for my friendship with Jessica, which made it worse for Lauren, Jessica's bestest friend to have an even better reason to despise me.
The first four classes: English, Government, Trigonometry, and French were surprisingly a breeze thanks to the assignments either Angela or the teachers sent over while I was away.
While at lunch, a new, unfamiliar bunch emerged from the cafeteria doors. They were beautiful... and also extremely pale even for Forks. So, this was the family Jessica was practically drooling over?
"Who are they?" I questioned anyways.
Jessica leans in, being careful to whisper, "It's the family I was telling you about. Dr. and Mrs. Cullen's foster kids. They all moved down here from Alaska like last month."
I studied the first girl who walked in, bleached blonde hair, almost black eyes that were almost unsettling, she wore a thin grey coat and a knitted white scarf that matched her icy skin, and a necklace with a large charm that looked to be a family crest of some sort.
"The blonde girl, Rosalie, and the big dark-haired guy, Emmett..." Jessica continued.
More of the family gathered in slowly, the blonde was linking hands with a man with jet black hair, with the same family crest residing on his wrist.
"... they're a thing. I'm not even sure that's legal." Jessica grimaced.
Angela piped in, "Jess, they're not actually related."
"But they live together and all wear that weird creepy crest like some sort of cult. And the little dark haired girl, Alice, she's really weird..."
Despite Jessica's remarks, Alice was the one who caught my eye the most so far and not in a negative way. She reminded me of a fairy almost with her pixie-like hair cut, her style, and the way she carried herself, which was pretty whimsical in a way. Her arms were locked with a man beside her, bleached blonde just as Rosalie was.
"... she's with Jasper, the blonde who looks like he's in pain" Jessica continued on, "I mean, Dr. Cullen's like this foster dad slash match maker."
"Maybe he'll adopt me." Angela giggled.
The last Cullen to enter, I assumed it was Edward, the man Jessica claimed to be weirdly gorgeous and 'wow'. 'Wow' was the perfect word to explain how I felt as he strode down the cafeteria. I couldn't keep your eyes off of him, even as he went past your table, I was oddly captivated by his presence. He had a lanky body, matched with the same pale skin as his siblings, bronze hair and striking smirk. You could've sworn he heard Jessica's whispered remarks from across the cafeteria.
"He's totally gorgeous, obviously. But apparently, no one here is good enough for him. Like I care." She does. "Anyway, don't waste your time."
"I wasn't planning on it." I looked away before his eyes could find mine and once I did, I felt as if holes were practically burned at the back of my head. Was he staring?
Out of curiosity, I peered over my shoulder, quickly glancing, seeing his eyes on mine and quickly turning my eyes back, slowly hiding behind my hair.
Tumblr media
Before I walked into Biology, I shuffled through my backpack to look for the assignments I'd done in your time away, settling them in my hands as I walked through the door.
Greeting Mr. Banner, I handed him my completed assignments that were neatly put together with a paper clip.
"Finally nice to see you Miss Y/L/N, how was your summer?" Being great at biology put you at an advantage, not only for assignments, but because Mr. Banner didn't question much about my month long disappearance, but I couldn't say the same about PE...
"It was good, thank you."
"Well that's great, I'm glad! And I appreciate your completed assignments, not even people attending have it all quite done like you have!" He rambled. "So! Your seat... There's a seating chart, but there should be an empty seat I left for you...,yes! Right there, next to Mr. Cullen." Mr. Banner pointed to the right side of the classroom to the seat next to the Cullen boy.
Edward's eyes once again felt as if they burned through my own, staring at me as if you had wronged him in some way. The hatred in his eyes was well aware, but for what reason?
With each step I took, the more disgust in his features appeared, almost as if he was holding his breath. Did I stink or something? I attempted not to smell myself to see if perhaps I had raging body odor or even a bad breath that radiated from across the classroom. No one else seemed to have an issue besides him.
Once I was sat, I heard him mutter into a cough, but I only made eye contact with his beading black eyes and said nothing at all. He only pushed the microscope towards me slowly, being careful to not come any closer to me as if he would catch something.
I sighed loudly, making my annoyance well known. He only just tensed.
Throughout the entirety of the class, the tension continued. I even considered going up to Mr. Banner and asking to switch seats with someone, but that only sparked the possibility of Mike forcing Eric to switch seats and I honestly couldn't figure out which would be worse. So, I decided to suffer through the entire hour and perhaps learn to suffer the entire year partnered with a man who could hardly even look me in the eye without being utterly disgusted.
At first I was hurt, but the hurt swiftly turned into annoyance once the partner sessions began. He didn't even consult with me, rather he just scribbled as fast as he could, only of what he was able to see through the microscope, only handing it to me after to check his answers. All correct, surprisingly.
Staring at the clock, I was counting down the time until the bell. Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. Edward had gotten up, practically running out of the classroom before the bell had officially rung.

Bound | Chapter 8
Tumblr media
Word Count: 3.4K Warnings: queer slurs
Summary: Rosalie always carried the resentment of not being able to fulfill the image of the perfect family she had in her head. But the universe had set out to grant her everything she could’ve hoped for in the most unconventional way and in the form of a witch. Can their love withstand the promise of forever or will Rosalie and (Y/N) succumb to the grapples of time?
A/N: I cannot believe how long I've neglected this story. I am ashamed 😭
<- Previous | Next ->
Tumblr media
Forks, Washington was everything Rosalie had thought she would hate from a town as a human. It was quiet, secluded, and a place where things seemed to stay stuck in time. There was no novelty or grandeur. A small town, after all.
The girl didn’t have much interest in the town. Then again, she hadn’t had much interest in any town since she had left Rochester. Sure, Tennessee had gifted her with Emmett, but the town was never what interested her. Once she had left her home, there was nothing that could pique her interest quite like the life she had left behind.
Still, she didn’t mind a small town anymore. Especially for the being she was now and the opulent grandeur the Cullens seemed to always live in. Surrounded by trees and winding down a lonely road, their new home came into view. Gravel crackled under their cars, announcing their arrival to whatever was out there.
The house was a beautiful Victorian build, with a wrap-around porch and high ceilings. It was an architectural marvel and the perfect place for the family to hide out in. They were surely not going to encounter any problems.
Surely.
However, only a month into living in the new town, they encountered neighbors they had never expected to meet. Much less while they fed on a herd of deer.
“We’re not alone,” Edward called out, his gaze set deep into the woods. “There’s someone there.”
“Other vampires, perhaps?” Carlisle questioned. “I heard there were a few nomads canvassing the area.”
“No. Not vampires,” he grimaced. “Something else. Much different.”
The family rushed cautiously deeper into the forest, Edward taking the lead as he followed the intruders’ thoughts.
Their smell hit them first—a mixture of wet dog, fresh-turned dirt, and soot. It made them all turn their noses, wishing their halted breath stopped their scent from traveling through their nostrils.
Then, three massive wolves broke through the woods. Their teeth were bared, and their claws dug into the dirt in preparation for a fight. But their presence wasn’t as intimidating as much as it was surprising. From what Carlisle had told the family, the Volturi had killed all of the Children of the Moon. Yet, right before them stood what appeared to be three of them.
“We mean you no harm,” Carlisle said as he stepped in front of the family protectively. “My family and I have recently bought a house a few miles off the town of Forks. We didn’t know there were Children of the Moon here.”
The dark brown wolf that stood in front growled in response, its mouth slobbering with rage. On any other occasion, the vampires would have fought the animals and more than likely come out victorious. But their coven had an advantage that none other did. And it came in the form of a six-two egotistical mind-reading vampire.
“They say they’re not children of the moon,” Edward recited. “And that our kind is not welcome in their land. No dead walkers have survived them.”
“I assure you we are like no other vampires you may have encountered before,” Carlisle continued. “We mean no harm to humans, for we do not need of their blood to survive. We exclusively feed off animal blood.”
“They say they can’t trust you simply off your word. Especially when they don’t even know your name.”
“My apologies,” the older vampire smiled. “I am Carlisle. The boy translating for us is Edward. This is my wife, Esme, and the newest additions to the family, Rosalie and Emmett.”
“From left to right, Levi Uley, Ephraim Black, and Quil Ateara II,” Edward said. “They say they are shapeshifters tasked with protecting the land from any and all enemies. Like us.”
“I assure you, we do not mean to cause you any harm,” the patriarch affirmed. “In fact, I propose we make a treaty. A mutually beneficial agreement that shall extend to all of your descendants for the rest of time. What do you say?”
The three wolves looked at each other, lost in thought, as they deliberated silently on the vampire’s offer. Given the position they were in, there was only one answer they could give, and it was the one they had all been expecting.
“They agree that given our claimed diet, a treaty is the best decision,” Edward said. “They want to meet three miles west of this location at midnight over a bonfire to discuss the terms of the agreement.”
“I don’t see why not,” Carlisle agreed. “We shall see you then.”
The wolves waited until the family was a safe distance away before turning back to where they had come from. The vampires found their very existence befuddling. They looked exactly like the werewolves that had once been—men who turned into wolves and looked at vampires as their natural enemies. Yet, these ones could shift in the light of the morning. They seemed in control of their actions, and they ran in a pack. More than that, they had faced them, and they were still alive. Children of the Moon, they definitely were not.
The Cullens headed back to their home to await nightfall, still unsure of who exactly they had just encountered but certain they’d end up with a good enough deal in their new town.
“That was awfully easy, wasn’t it?” Esme said as they settled around their living room. “I thought we were sure to get a bigger fight.”
“Those mutts knew they were outnumbered and outpowered,” Edward chuckled as he slumped into the couch. “They would never put up a fight with us.”
“Do you actively wake up in the morning and decide you’re gonna be a giant prick?” Rosalie scoffed. “Or is that just an awful character flaw you were born with?”
She couldn’t help the smirk that stretched across her mouth as Emmett snickered beside her, a sense of accomplishment surging deep within her.
Emmett had quickly become the blonde’s closest friend and confidante. While she helped him with his dietary struggles, he kept her company. And for the first time in the couple of years of her turning, she didn’t feel alone.
He’d kept her secret as he had promised. He said every time he felt the thought sprouting in his head and Edward was around, he would scream as loudly as he could in his mind. And he’d known it worked when the older vampire flinched for no reason at all. It had become a sort of challenge to the boy. He had gravitated from screaming to picking a jingle or a phrase a day that he would repeat over and over until Edward either left them or tuned him out. And he had done it all for the friendship he had built with Rosalie.
“What? You’re gonna defend them?” Edward countered with disgust. “As if you hadn’t thought the same thing. As a matter of fact, we all did. So, don’t go around thinking you’re better than me.”
“At least none of us said it out loud, Eddie-boy,”  Emmettt interjected.  “That’s the difference here. Don’t get angry because other people have some shred of dignity.”
“Oh, please, you’re only saying that because you always take Rosalie’s side,” the boy grumbled. “If it weren’t for her, you would be saying the same thing.”
“Is that right?” the bigger vampire challenged. “You think you know me, Edward? Do you really think you know a single thing about me?”
“I know enough. There’s only so much you can hide from a mind reader, Emmett.”
“You’d be surprised,” he smirked. “Just because you can read my mind doesn’t mean you’re getting anything of substance.”
“Well, I normally do when my subject’s lights are on upstairs,” Edward jabbed. “But I can’t ask a lot from a guy who thought they had a chance at winning against a bear.”
“Maybe not then, but I’ve taken one on now,” Emmet spat, standing in front of Edward and towering over the boy as he stood. “And I can most definitely take you on as well if you want to question what’s going on in my head. And we both know who is going to win between us.”
“Alright, boys, that’s enough,” Esme interrupted, ever the mother she was. “It does us no good to fight within the family.”
“No, I think it’s healthy to air out our grievances from time to time,” Emmett continued, his eyes trained firmly on Edward’s. “Sometimes people need to be knocked down a peg or two. Works wonders for the ego.”
“I don’t know why you’re being so protective over Rosalie,” Edward said, suddenly snapping his eyes toward the girl. “You shouldn’t be so protective of this fairy lady.”
If Rosalie had been able to breathe, she was sure those words would have knocked the wind out of her lungs. How could he have known? She’d guarded her thoughts well, and she knew Emmett had as well. “What did you just call me?”
“Come on, Rosalie. Let’s not play games here,” he smirked. “We both know what I’m talking about.”
“That’s enough, Edward,” Carlisle tried to interject, but the boy continued.
“If you wanted to hide your true self so much, maybe you shouldn’t leave your journal where anyone can see it,” he said. “It doesn’t take a genius to know that you’re a dyke.”
The sound of a slap echoed through the room as Rosalie’s hand smacked Edward’s cheek, the suddenness enough to have him stumbling back. He stared at her in shock, surprised at her break in composure.
“Take a walk, Edward!” Esme finally exclaimed. “You’ve gone far enough.”
But the girl didn’t stay long enough to see if he would stay or leave. She sped out the front doors and didn’t stop until she felt she was far enough away.
Anger bubbled deep in her chest, and she had no other method of release than violence. She pounded her fists into a tree, over and over and over until she had almost made it through the other side. She punched through her sadness, punched through her ire, punched through her fear. She punched until the tree could not hold itself upright anymore, tumbling to the ground with a deafening thud.
She had been so careful. Handpicked every single thought she had, kept her distance, and hid her personal things. And yet, Edward had been able to figure out her secret because of one careless day. One measly careless second, and he’d been able to see the one thing she kept closest to her heart.
“Do you mind if I sit with you?” she heard Carlisle ask from behind her.
She had sat on the tree she had broken, listening to the quiet of the forest before he arrived. It made her feel… well, alone. “Sure,” she sighed, brushing away the dirt that had stained her knuckles. “Can’t really stop you.”
I wouldn’t if you didn’t want me to,” he said with a smile. They sat in silence for a moment as he tried to find the right words. “I’m sorry about Edward. He’s a good kid most times. Just… emotionally challenged.”
“Nice way to say he’s an asshole,” she scoffed. “I’m guessing you’re here to say I should start looking for a new coven.”
“Why would you think that?”
“Come on, Carlisle. I’m surely not what you expected me to be when you turned me,” she said, her eyes trained on her feet, too embarrassed to look him in the eyes. “I’m definitely not someone that aligns with your moral values.”
Carlisle could only chuckle softly at the girl and her misconceptions. She’d been with the family for three years, and yet, she barely knew them at all. “When I was still a human, I used to judge everyone I met,” he said. “I was raised by a pastor, and I became a vampire hunter. Although, at the time, I didn’t know I was passing judgment. All I had known was that different meant bad, even when I strived to be better than my father. “But life quickly showed me that nothing is simply black and white,” he explained. “I’ve lived too long now to keep those misconstrued thoughts alive in my head and my heart. I mean, I became what I was raised to hate most in my life. And I learned that just because you’re different, it doesn’t mean you are bad.”
“This is different from being a vampire, Carlisle. Even your bible says people like me are sinners and vile,” she said, her voice trembling under the weight of her words. “I am condemned and doomed just for who I love.”
“How is it any different? Well, I guess you weren’t born a vampire,” he chuckled softly. “But, it is still something you cannot change about yourself. In my eyes, loving someone could never be a sin. Even the good book says so. You’re not damned, Rosalie, and you certainly are not doomed.”
The last thing she had expected was Carlisle to be one of the most accepting people she could have met, other than Emmett, of course. She knew of his religious path and the beliefs he still held close to his heart. Those had her fearing the repercussions of him knowing her true self. Her sexuality was the only thing she could keep for herself. Guard it close to her heart so no one could use it against her—not that it had worked with Edward. She had gone two decades of her life hidden in the shadows, trusting only two people with her secret, but it had all been for naught. The people who truly cared for her wouldn’t mind who she loved as long as she was happy.
“I promise I will reprimand Edward for the words he said and for infringing on your privacy,” Carlisle smiled. “And I give you my word that he will never, ever use that hateful rhetoric in our house ever again.”
“Thank you, Carlisle,” Rosalie beamed. “You can’t know how much this means to me. Truly.”
“We’re on your side,” he said. “Whether you feel it or not, Rosalie, you are part of this family. And we’ll stand beside you through it all.”
The girl couldn’t help but wrap her arms around the man. All words escaped her as she tried to pick the right ones, but a hug seemed like the right response. Carlisle had brought her into this new world out of pity, but he’d gently guided her to people who loved her unconditionally—except for the one exception. Even if she detested the life she had to live as a vampire, she was grateful to have at least that.
“Well, we should head back and get things sorted before tonight,” Carlisle said. “We need to go into this as a united front. Or at least appear like we are.”
“As long as Edward stays as far away from me as possible, I don’t see why we won’t.”
“You won’t have to worry about that,” he assured. “And just so you know, Esme gave him quite the talking to before I left. I bet we could catch the end of it if we hurry back.”
Rosalie reciprocated Carlisle’s playful grin before they took off in a sprint back to the house. Lo and behold, Esme was still yelling at Edward when they arrived, his face solemn like that of an ashamed child. Meanwhile, Emmett stood not too far back, snickering to himself and, more likely than not, giving the mind reader hell inside his head.
It took everything in the girl not to boast as she walked past him, her head held high and a grin adorning her pink lips. He wouldn’t meet her gaze, his eyes trained on the tips of his fingers. She rather preferred it that way. Edward had no right to look her in the eyes, and she was glad he finally knew his place.
For the first time in the three years she had been with the Cullens, she had finally felt part of the family. She hadn’t expected them all to rally behind her against Edward, but her heart warmed as they did. They had all seen past her cold exterior and inhuman beauty. They had seen her soul and learned her worth. They cared for her, and they weren’t ashamed to show it.
At that moment, she wondered what would have happened if Vera had also become a vampire. They could have both joined the Cullen family and finally have the life they had dreamed of—at least the mirage of it. They would have been able to love each other and live freely amongst the immortals, sure that they’d be loved and protected. She thought they’d have love stories written about them, poets and singers would cry at the mention of their love. They would’ve had eternity and a day to bask in the warmth of the other, and no matter what anyone thought, they could simply be.
But then, there’s a reason why dreams only appear when we’re asleep. At some point, they end, and you wake up.
There would never be a perfect ending for them whether they lived for eternity or just a day more. Their love was meant to end at one moment or another. There had been a semicolon placed on the story the moment Vera got married and had Henry. And a period ended their sentence the second blood stopped rushing through Rosalie’s veins.
Vera had always been a dream for Rosalie, and turning into a vampire simply woke her up.
Hours passed, and finally, the moon had reached its highest point in the sky. The clock on the living room wall confirmed that midnight had arrived, and it was time to face the wolves once more. In the distance, a string of smoke signaled their destination, and they rushed toward it.
The smell of fire filtered through their noses soon enough, mixing with the scent of the wolves and the forest. The wind murmured a quiet warning to everyone and everything around; what was about to occur that night was nothing short of history in the making.
When the Cullens arrived, three men wearing wooden wolf helmets were waiting for them. Behind them, a large bonfire crackled and danced, filling the darkness with a bright and warm hue. It would have been a beautiful sight to behold had it not been for the menacing stares the three men were gifting the vampires.
“I take it you’re Ephraim Black,” Carlisle said, breaking the silence and extending a courteous hand toward the other man. “As I said before, my name is Carlisle Cullen, and this is my family…”
“We can skip the niceties, cold one,” Ephraim interrupted. “We are here to settle business and go our own ways.”
“Alright, if that is what you choose,” the vampire smiled. “Shall we begin then?”
That night, a treaty was formed between two unlikely kinds. Between maps and discussions, an agreement over land and behavior was reached, pertinent to their current lives. Mutual discreteness over their supernatural status, explicit boundaries in regions of the town, and, most importantly, no harm could ever come to a human, whether by hunting or transforming them into a vampire. If any of these terms were broken, it would mean the start of a war between the Quileute tribe shapeshifters and the Cullens. And a war would mean an inevitable end to one of the races.
Rosalie understood the need for a treaty. Being at odds with someone so close by could only lead to pain and discomfort, and she already knew what it was like to live with that.
But seeing the shifters’ ability to put everything aside for the common greater good—regardless of whether or not they had felt outnumbered—gave her the best solution to her Edward-shaped dilemma. After that night, he would never treat her like he had, and she’d behave amicably toward the boy, pretending he was nothing more than a thorn in her side—a tiresome nuisance, if you will.
At the end of the day, it was only eternity.

Wolf-Shifters
I always quite liked how different the "werewolves" of the saga were. But they also were problematic to say the least.
everything i don't mention is just like in canon!
the wolf-shifters of Olympic Bay are not descendant of the Quileutes
the first transformation is triggered by the proximity of a supernatural threat and a strong emotion. Every transformation after the first takes the will to protect
the shifters keep aging at a normal rate after they’ve changed for the first time
the shifters’ body temperature is too high, as to get someone pregnant or become pregnant themselves, as long as they keep changing into the wolf regularly. It would however become possible again, should they choose to stop changing for more than tree months
the length of their fur is not influenced by their hair length
pack members can communicate telepathically as long as transformed
shapeshifters have enhanced bodies in their human form - similar to vampires, except that they get tired. But they can run as fast as cheetahs when transformed
imprinting:
imprinting is a strong connection between a shapeshifter and a human, who is around the same age as the shifter (+/- 3years)
both can feel the connection, but aren’t influenced by it; they can make independent decisions and live without each other
the imprint would disappear, should one of them die or get turned into a vampire

I’ve been having quite the time reading the Twilight Rewrite by the amazing Mari_1113 on AO3. It’s pretty great!......... it makes me SAD, though. Which is why THIS VIDEO.
And I always thought Naomi Scott was a good representation to book!Leah, so I put her there. “Why change Kristen but not Robert for this video, Liv?” Well. I have a perfect explanation for this and it’s that I needed someone to look completely utterly freaking depressed at having to kiss Edward and Anya did that in Split SO GOOD. But also, can you imagine having to kiss Edward Cullen and he doesn’t look anthing like the beautiful Robert Pattinson? I think I’d DIE. Soooo, yeah. Fight me world. But make sure to check out this fic first.
